How much does the app cost?
JuJu is free to download and use with basic features. For a limited time during our launch phase, you can unlock the full application for a special one-time price of $4.99. This gives you lifetime access to all features with no subscriptions.
What is Share anonymous research data?
An optional feature in Settings → Privacy. When enabled, anonymous sensor summaries and location rounded to ~100m may be uploaded to help build community heat maps and research patterns. It is off by default, separate from the app unlock, and does not upload your photos, videos, or EVP. Turning it off does not delete your local investigations.
Is my data private?
Yes. Research sharing is optional and fully anonymized when enabled — no user IDs or names on sensor batches. Location is rounded to ~100m. Your photos, EVP, and videos stay on your device unless you choose cloud sync. You can enable or disable research sharing anytime in Settings → Privacy.
How do I get Michael AI modes?
Normal mode is free (BYOK — your OpenAI or Gemini key, 30 min/day on free tier). Scientist and Dramatic modes are included with the $4.99 one-time app unlock. They are not tied to research sharing.
What happens if I don't unlock the app?
You keep free-tier basics: sensors, local EVP, limited Michael Normal mode (BYOK), and optional research sharing if you choose. The $4.99 unlock adds the full toolkit plus Scientist & Dramatic modes.
Is there a free trial?
No, we don't offer a trial period. The app is free to download with a free tier that includes basic features. You can try all features in free mode to see what you're getting. To unlock all features, purchase the $4.99 one-time unlock.
