June update: summer release + the Michael we are building

Big month. The summer update goes live in June — after a final round of on-device QA — and we crossed 10,000+ installs across the App Store and Google Play. Thank you for taking this seriously enough to actually use it in the field.
What is shipping this month
Research sharing — optional, clear, separate
- Off by default. Opt in when you want to contribute.
- Settings → Privacy → Share anonymous research data — one tap off anytime.
- When on: anonymous sensor summaries + location rounded to ~100 m. Not your photos, videos, or EVP.
- Turning sharing off does not delete your investigations or media.
Michael Scientist & Dramatic
- Included with the $4.99 full app unlock — no longer tied to research sharing.
- Normal mode still works free with your own API key (BYOK) if that is your thing.
Start Investigation
- Consent → baseline calibration → session timer → tagged batches when sharing is on.
- End investigation; ambient collection resumes if you still want to share.
Plus: accent color schemes, capture torch on photo/video, tighter Android restore purchases, safer Sentry session backups.
Your stuff stays yours:
Your investigations, photos, and recordings stay on your device. Research sharing only controls anonymous uploads — turning it off does not delete your files.

Michael is becoming something else entirely
This is the part we are genuinely excited about.
Right now, a lot of "AI assistants" are just ChatGPT in a costume — confident, fluent, and happy to make things up. That is the opposite of what you need alone in a dark hallway with a spike on the EMF meter.
We are building our own in-house brain for Michael — powered by Lattice, our confidence-gated reasoning engine. Think less carnival psychic, more Spock with a meter in his hand:
- Says when it does not know — instead of hallucinating a story to fill the silence
- Reasons from what JuJu actually measured — your session, your sensors, your evidence
- Separates "interesting variance" from "proof of anything" — measurement-first, always
- No OpenAI or Gemini required — unless you want BYOK; your choice
When this lands, it will feel different from every other paranormal app that slapped a chatbot on a logo. We are not promising ghosts in a bottle. We are promising an investigator that will not bullshit you — and for a lot of you, that is going to click the first time you use it.
